Animation fans rejoice! Pixar’s Ratatouille pulled in $47,227,000 over the weekend which put it in the number one spot. The rats were up against Live Free or Die Hard, which many believe is the reason why Ratatouille debuted with only $47 million. Previous Pixar movies have debuted in the $57.4 million ~ $70.5 million range, with only A Bug’s Life debuting with lower sales tickets at $33.3 million in its opening weekend.

Expect ticket sales to increase over the 4th of July Holiday.
