Aardman Animations acquires ‘Peter and the Wolf’ short film

Aardman Animations has secured the worldwide TV, DVD and online rights to Peter and the Wolf, a half-hour stop-motion animated film produced by BreakThru Films.

This updated retelling brings Prokofiev’s tale into the 21st century with new twists and an environmental theme while staying true to the original story.

Peter and the Wolf has been short listed for an Academy Award and won the 2007 Annecy Cristal and the Annecy Audience Awards, as well as the Rose d’Or award at the 2007 Festival for Entertainment Television Programming.

It was also the recipient of the 2007 Pulcinella award for the Best European Program of the Year at the recent Cartoons on the Bay International Festival of Television Animation in Salerno, Italy.
