After much secrecy, the cast for Spielberg’s upcoming Tintin adaptation has been revealed. Set to star is actor Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) with Daniel Craig (James Bond) co-starring as Red Rackman.
The first installment in the planned 3D motion-capture trilogy is titled “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn,” and is being co-financed by Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment. An exact release day has yet to be announced, but rest assured it will be sometime in 2011.
Rounding out the steller cast are Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.
Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy are producing, with Jackson expected to direct the sequel. Rumors speculate that the third and final installment will be co-directed by Spielberg and Jackson — although some suggest that a third director may be brought in.
